What a fun weekend we had! Megan and I were in St. George for her dance competition with Michelle, Camryn and Caitlyn. I think this might have to become a yearly girls weekend.
We found out that Megan had a competition in St. George the same weekend that Noah's baseball season started. So Brian had to stay for Noah's game and I took Megan to St. George.
I talked to Michelle and we made plans for her and the girls to drive up from Vegas and make it a 'girls weekend'
Michelle could not come until Saturday morning because of school so Friday me and Megan had some mommy/daughter time. We got to the hotel Friday afternoon and Megan headed straight to the pool, where she had fun swimming with some friends from her dance class. After that I took her shopping of course and we went out to eat at Chili's. It was fun to spend some time with only her. That doesn't get to happen very often. I think that we need to start doing that more, date night with just one kid at a time.
Saturday was the big day! Megan was so excited but also nervous for her dance. She said to me, "mom it's been a while since I danced in front of a lot of people" I thought that was really cute. I told that was okay to be nervous but that she was going to do great. All the girls were so cute and for their first one of the year I think they really did a good job. Here's a picture of Megan before her dance.
This next picture is of the awards ceremony. All the girls sit together with their dance teams and the awards are handed out. Megan's production number won third place.(I just found out from Tiffany, Megan's dance teacher that they actually won First place. WOO HOO!)
Megan was was really excited to see her cousin's and was happy they got to see her dance.
After she was done we went and grabbed a quick lunch and went back to the hotel so the girls could go swimming. I think they had a good time.
Caitlyn had fun trying to catch butterflies.
After a long afternoon of swimming we went out to dinner at Iggy's. We had a couple of tired girls who didn't make it through Dinner.
Then back to the hotel for a movie and pop corn and skittles.
We had connecting room's so the girl's were in one room with a movie and Michelle and I were in the other with a movie. At 9:30 we got a craving for Nelson's frozen custard so Michelle headed out to get us some. Not caring that she was in pajamas, hair pulled back and make up washed off. It was pretty funny, the girl was on a mission! Come to find out later that those damn frozen custards were the down fall of the night. they made us uncomfortably full. And pore Caitlyn sick.
We found out that popcorn, skittles and custard are to much for a 4 year old stomach. She threw up all over her bed :( Not fun!
We woke up Sunday morning still FULL! We took the girls down to breakfast but all I could manage was coffee. Then we let the girls get some more swimming in before we had to check out at noon. It was a fun weekend and I'm glad that the girls got to spend some time together. That doesn't get to happen often enough. I wish all my family could live closer together.
