Day four

We had so much fun today. Brian did some research and found out that there are a lot of Indian ruins close by, so we headed south of Moab to Blanding where there are quite a few Anasazi ruins. We found the canyon they were in and started down the path to find them and we did. I thought we were going to see one, we ended up exploring four but saw a fifth when we getting ready to leave. Amazing! They were cliff dwellings and we were able to get up in them and look around. The kids loved it. Noah of course immediately started looking for 'treasures'. He really wanted to find a arrow head. Brian and Noah did find some pottery shards, they were left at the site of course. we explored there for about three hours, but honestly I could have stayed all day. Brian did some research and found out that there is suppose to be about twelve ruins in that one area. Next we went to The edge of cedars Indian Museum in Blanding. Behind the Museum there was a Pueblo dwelling that we were able to go into. On the way back to Moab we wen into Canyonlands to see Newspaper Rock, a rock that has a lot of pictographs on it. On the way there we ran into a lot of wildlife. We saw open range cows that did not want to share the road very much. We saw a wild turkey and we also saw deer and two bucks. It was a great day that I hope the kids will remember forever.
