Every Sunday we try and do something fun together as a family. This past Sunday was no different. For the past few months this has usually meant going hiking to some beautiful lake or waterfall. Brian's newest hobby is photography, so we like to go to places that great pictures can be taken and the kids can have a good time. Well the kids and I vetoed a hike and wanted to do something different, so Brian came up with a plan to go to the Bonneville salt flats. Noah was extremely excited because he knew that this is where some of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 had been filmed. The part when Captain Jack is locked in Davey Jones Locker. So in search of Davy Jones Locker we went. It was about a two hour drive from our house. (If I only realized that is was only a few miles outside of Wendover I would of had them drop me of at one of the casino's and I could of hit the poker tables!!!:) Anyway, we had a really good time. I couldn't believe how pretty it was. Brian got some awesome pictures, the boys got to shoot their guns, and Megan and I pretended to be stranded on and Island. The salt flats are famous for car racing, so we had to try it out too. We got the Aspen up to 105 mph on the salt flat speedway, I don't think it is a land speed record, but it was fast enough for me! I'm sure Brian wanted to go faster, but I'm a wimp. We never did find Jack Sparrow or the Black Pearl!! I guess that gives us reason to go back sometime.

You should blow that picture of your family up and frame it! That is such a cool picture!! I would have stopped by Wendover too! We should take the fun bus sometime :)
